Question of the Day: What about the women?
Hey Nick, I am going to copy and paste something from their website. Check this out from their what we believe page. “Baptism: We believe baptism is a one-time faith response to our acceptance of Christ as Savior and a pledge of our devotion to God. We are devoted to teaching and encouraging believers to be immersed in Christ and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Wait, what? These bunch of snakes! They are trying to deceive churches of Christ into believing that they still practice what the Bible preaches about this, but their thinly veiled attempt is telling. Look at this wording right here “baptism is a one-time faith response to our acceptance of Christ as Savior.”
Let’s process this for a moment here… so baptism is NOT a response to Christ, but it is a response to OUR ACCEPTANCE of Christ! Or in other words, it is an “outward sign of an inward grace.” Thus they clearly do not believe it is the act of accepting Christ as Lord by calling on His name, but something that someone does AFTER they have “accepted” (whatever that means) Jesus.
Hmmmm… what are ministers being taught at our Christian Universities again?
Oh, and by the way, I don’t know when and where you saw this video, but all sources have been locked down online. Wineskins has all but disappeared! No kidding! Their youtube channel is 100% empty of all videos. What are they afraid of, and what are they trying to hide?
I saw the video Monday and the site viewed I it on (“An Open Letter to the 4th Avenue Church of Christ”) still has the player but when you click play it says “This video is private.” You’re right: this is deceptive and my use of the word “insidious” in this episode seems all the more fitting. How much longer until the 4th Avenue website is put on lockdown??
And thanks for the heads up on the baptism stuff!
